The most fun I’ve ever had…

I am lucky, I make o.k. money that lets me go on vacations, live in a great house and have fun spending money on clothing, good food and gadgets. All of that is fun but the real fun for me is when I feel alive. What do I mean by ‘feeling alive’. I feel alive when my senses are awake, my emotions are free to feel everything, when I can feel sad and cry when something horrible happens to someone and when I can feel happy and excited when something really great happens as well. The more years we are around, the more we think we have figured life out. We have our set routines. We know what we’ll eat for breakfast, what style of furniture we like, what style of clothing we will wear, what the people are we like and who we don’t like, what religion we belong to and so on. The more we think we have figured life out the less we re-invent ourselves. But unfortunately, at the same time our range of the emotions we can feel goes down, our spontaneity goes down and our willingness to explore decreases. When most of us were in our teens we were excited to explore who we were are going to be. We wanted to learn, make money, find great friends and life partners to build our lives with. The sad thing is that most people will not change up their routines any longer when they are in their 50th and 60th and 70th.

The real luck I have is not that I make o.k. money but that I found people who are explorers no matter how many years they are around. I just attended the People Unlimited New Years Launch Event in Scottsdale and I was lucky to be with Bernadeane who I saw completely change her routine around once again. And Bernie is not in her teens, or 20th or 30th. I know Bernie now for about 25 years and I’ve seen her change her routine around over and over again. Usually when I see Bernie change is when she feels that what she has been doing is no longer building her body or the people around her. Bernie changes things most people wouldn’t change like life style, food, opinions, believes, the way of interacting with close friends and family. Each time I see her change these things, I see Bernie be more alive. I see her more charismatic, more vibrant, more smiling and laughing, more excited about her day, more excited about her future. My mom is only 10 more years around than Bernie and I care for her a lot but I have not seen my mom excited about her future for a very long time.

The most fun I have is when I get up in the morning and don’t live the perfect routine but have the intend to do whatever will most build my body and the body of everyone around me that day. What can I say, what can I do, how can I interact with my co-workers and clients so that their life is easier that day? How can I make the people around me feel valuable, wanted, smart and just overall great? How many people can I make feel that way?

It’s so much fun to live my day that way because I have to re-invent myself all the time and there is no set routine. It has no right and wrongs and the dreadful feelings of being impatient and frustrated with others don’t exist. My day is not planned around a long and important ‘to do’ list but around the intend to do what will make my life better and what can make the lives of the people around me better. This requires all my senses to be aware. Great routines always come with the threat of failure. Failure because I might not be able to do everything I said I would. Living around the intend to making my own life and the lives of others better, easier and more fun knows no failures. In the end those failures of missing a goal or not completing something you had committed to are fun killers. They can make you feel small and insufficient and unimportant because once again you have broken your word. Making another person smile and have a moment of laughter or making a certain task easy for others or just giving someone that feeling of how important they are to you has instant gratification. In those moments failure does not exist and the feeling small and insignificant which is so common is extinguished. There are no limits of how easy life can be and how happy we can be and how important we are to each other.

I am not made for being alone…

I was never made for being alone, yet I was taught from early on I should make it alone. I had a lot of friends who’s life dream was to have enough money to retreat to an island or the mountains.

I never wanted to be on an island no matter how beautiful it looked or on a mountain far away from civilization. I always felt like being alone was punishment. I could never see anything good in it. Yet, for the first part of my life it was hard for me to connect to others. I always felt there were conditions associated with these connections. Conditions and rules. And these conditions and rules could change at any time without any notice. And I believed I had to get them right or at least be in the ball park of right to be able to connect to people. I found myself using most of my brain power figuring out how to be. I observed others who seemed to be cool trying to be like them so I could be cool and attractive as well. I found myself in conversations attempting to simulate what the other person wanted to hear so I could be that way and be interesting to them. It was very hard work.

All of these strategies were really pathetic. Lucky me I was really bad at them and they never got me anywhere.

Feeling that I don’t have to die has kind of cured me from all the trying to be like others.

Not having to die comes with a complete set of new ways of living. There are not many people who feel it so all the trying to be like others falls to the wayside.

And then it’s pretty much impossible to be really alive – I mean so alive that you never have to die – without simply being yourself. If you don’t want to be the unique person you are, you are pretty much a lost cause for physical immortality.

I remember the first time when I had the physical feeling that I didn’t have to die. It lasted only for a little bit before I went back to my normal try to be like everyone else mode. That moment was magical. It came out of the blue just from within myself. I had been involved with People Unlimited and a whole community of people that didn’t feel they had to die for several years then. During those years I had completely fallen in love with these people and it was easy for me to ‘think’ that it was possible to live without an end.

Yet what I hadn’t done at that time was experiencing ‘not dying’ in my own person. Yes, not dying is an ‘experience’. When I first experienced it, it came as a surprise. I was living in Germany then and it was an evening like any other evening. Nothing was out of the ordinary. This was until I had a sensation that I had never had before. I felt a physical vibration and tingling all over me. It felt like my cells caught onto fire and all of a sudden came alive. And this aliveness was not just within me, it was a physical connection with a very selected small number of people. People who are still in my life now. Now 18 years later, I feel an even stronger connection to them. These people are Otto – my intimate life partner for nearly 20 years – Bernie, Jim and Chuck. Bernie, Jim and Chuck are the first three people who had told me that they weren’t going to die. They were very open and had no intimidation around living without an end physically. And even though I didn’t really know them personally then, that evening I could feel them.

Now 18 years later, I no longer live in Germany, I live in Cave Creek, Arizona. Otto, Bernie and Jim are in my daily living now and I am even more connected to them. I now have many more people I feel this connection to. I now have this incredible physical sensation of physical immortality pretty much every day.

The interesting thing is that in all of this connected feeling I all forgot about having to figure out how to be. I just am. I turned out to be very unique. I have hobbies none of my friends have. I eat like no-one else around me eats and my eating habits are getting weirder and weirder all the time. It’s fun to be so different and it’s natural. It’s a relief that I no longer try to connect with people by trying to be like them.

Women love shopping for shoes but do we do it for the right reasons?

Women love shopping for clothing and shoes and so do I but do we do it for the reasons? Sometimes I shop because I feel great and part of feeling great is that I look good and of course I am happy to spend money on myself for clothing and shoes that expresses how great I am. I would be denying myself if I wouldn’t.

But when I am honest to myself do I always go shopping for that reason? Sometimes it’s just the opposite and I go shopping because I feel not so great and I have the urge to fill myself up with shopping. The thought of just the right shoes and especially if they are on sale seems to be the one thing that can lift my spirits. In those moments I don’t buy the shoes because I feel great but because I need to be filled up and shoes or clothing just seem to do the job. And often times I have no reason what so ever for feeling empty or awful. My life is going great. I have created the best for myself in every area, so there is definitely no need for feeing negative to begin with. By the way when I buy the shoes to make me feel great it usually works and I will feel better but I still find it wrong to feel empty. Feeling awful about myself for whatever reason is just wrong and I find it wrong for most people I know.

There are some really awful people around but I am not talking about them. In the end, usually only the good people feel awful and negative about themselves and the people who do the bad things, usually have no conscience and will feel never bad. But then even the ‘bad’ people might feel so highly nothing about themselves that they have to take it out on others by being mean and terrible. If they would feel better and more valuable they might stop being so mean. But this is a different subject…

I now realize that we get taught that we are nothing… my mom has nothing to say about how great she is, my sister is in complete silence about how important she is. In fact I doubt she it ever crossed their mind that saying good things about themselves is an option. My grandma was negative all the time and she had no positive word come out of her mouth ever. And all my aunts struggled with depression. None of them felt awful like ‘I am a terrible person’ awful but they felt awful like ‘I always have to accomplish something to be valuable’ or ‘I am just not measuring up’ awful or ‘I am not valuable for simply who I am’ awful. Language such as ‘I am great’, ‘I am a wonderful person’, ‘I am proud of myself’, ‘I am important to be around’ or any other such language is pretty much non-existent in their vocabulary.

And it’s pretty much non-existing for most woman I know. In fact, I only know one woman who can say freely that she is important. What I hear a lot from woman pretty much everywhere is ‘You are important’. Especially if a woman has children I can hear it non-stop. I can hear non-stop how important her children are. Shouldn’t the mothers say great things about themselves too? If you say more great things about your children or other people in general than about yourself I find you hypercritical. And – by the way – you will teach your children that they are not valuable either and that they will only live for others when they grow up. I don’t think that is a great upbringing after all.

So who is going to break the cycle? I know one person who has broken it already. And this person is Bernadeane. I am so thankful for you – Bernie!! Hallelujah, one woman who finally says the truth about herself. I have heard Bernie say many times ‘I am valuable’, ‘I am important’. And it’s not only her words it’s also her body language. It’s how Bernie looks, how well she dresses and how she talks to others. Bernie is a woman who looks gorgeous not just to impress men and to hold up well in the unending female competition of ‘good looking’. She looks good just because she feel she is so valuable and looking good is just the right way to express it. How refreshing!!! Not sure if with all the “I don’t feel valuable’ women or ‘I only feel valuable for the great things I do’ role models I’ve had in my life, I would have been able to even have the thought that I can feel good for who I am. Only after hanging out with Bernadeane for the past 20 years I am getting a glimpse of how it feels to be valuable for the person I am.

It feels sooo, sooo good. And this is the direction I am taking now. Why not let my life be guided by the valuable person I am instead of the person who has to please others all the time. I personally find people who feel their own value extremely pleasing. So I am going to be more and more pleasing that way now too.

A promise impossible to keep

A little while ago I had a coaching session with the only coaching client I have right now – Otto. Otto seemed to be worried and weary and no matter what he did the weariness and worries persisted. He made good money, clients loved him, he happens to be my life partner for a long time now and I know I love him and adore him and treat him very well. But far beyond just me he is admired and adored and loved and built by lots and lots of people every single day. He is recognized as how invaluable he is not only for his contributions which are so important but also simply for the person he is. Otto can give a feeling that makes you feel immediately at ease and raises your spirits. I’ve seen Otto change lots of people’s lives to the better. He is just a phenomenal person and great to live with.

Yet, Otto was weary and he worried despite of is life  going really well in all areas. And not only was he worried and weary that evening when we had the coaching session, he had been worried and weary for a really long time. We had many talks around this and there seemed to be no reason for it and none of these talks made a difference. Otto’s worries and his weariness persisted. It didn’t get worse and it didn’t get better. The only thing that was interesting about it was that it persisted no matter if good things happened or bad things happened. It was just always there.

So now we had our coaching session and I asked him one question. I am lucky that Otto and I have the agreement that his coaching sessions are not confidential so I can share this. But it’s really not about Otto, it’s about something I’ve done and I know many people I know have done and it’s so common so Otto is really only an example and we should all ask ourselves this question. It was a long question and according to the coaching training it was far too long to be efficient but still I asked it.

The question I asked him was: What promises did you make in your life that you really meant when you made them but then you broke them because they simply didn’t apply any longer?

He first didn’t understand what I meant so I gave him a couple of examples. You married your first wife about 40 years ago and you promised to stay with her forever and you really meant it with all your heart then but then you divorced 17 years later and you broke that promise. Same with your children. I know that your heart promised them to be with them in a certain way when they were little but then you couldn’t keep this promise because of your divorce.

So he understood what I meant and we had a great very insightful conversation where Otto told me many areas where he had made promises. None of these promises had been casual. He had all made them with his whole heart. But then life happened and he got in touch with deeper and vaster feelings of himself. In order to live the vaster person, he had to break some of the old promises. He had a choice to keep the promises he had made no matter how true they were now or to be true to the new person who emerged from within. The new person felt to go out in the world and touch a lot of people’s life to be better. The new person was no longer just a good father, money maker and husband. The new person didn’t want a divorce but it so happened that his first wife didn’t feel the same way and the divorce inevitably happened. There were other promises that Otto had made to friends, in former work positions, to his parents and others that were true then but just simply had been outlived and replaced by new much bigger promises.

Some of the choices had been painful – like living away from his children – but overall Otto had felt good with every single one of them and was very clear that they had been the right thing to do. There was no doubt in him so why did I asked the question?

So now I asked a second question: ‘When you broke your promises, how did you acknowledge that you broke them?’ He looked at me puzzled. What do you mean? When someone makes a promise from their heart and soul and every cell is in agreement with these promises and then life happens and we grow and become bigger and we break those promises, we still have to acknowledge that we broke them. It’s critical to acknowledge them to ourselves and perhaps even to the others we made them to. But it’s mostly that we acknowledge them to ourselves: like ‘I broke that promise’. ‘I couldn’t keep it any longer because it was keeping me too small and didn’t let me be the larger person I am’.

It’s important because it set’s our heart free. It frees out soul and spirit. Promises we make are like invisible ties and they need to be cut if they no longer apply.

It was amazing to see Otto after our conversation. It was like a dark cloud lifted and I was so thankful to both of us that we could have that conversation. I was thankful to the wonderful life I am living, a life that walks free of chains we carry in our body. Chains we make but then have to be broken for us to be happier and healthier and more prosperous.

There are a lot of promises we made to others along the line of dying. Like lots of people promise each other to stay together forever and then if one person dies the other person dies soon after. Sometimes we promise this in the way we love and in our passion and we don’t even have to say a word. When we do it, it seems like the utmost expression of our love and since we adore the person so much we do it freely.

Or we promise to ourselves that we live to a certain year. Like I want to live to be 80 or some say I want to live to be 100. But then you might be 100 and it’s not been enough and you don’t want to die but that promise has been working in you for a long time and you can’t escape it now and your body breaks down. Unless you openly declare that you break the promise because it doesn’t make sense anymore, your body will follow it and make it true.

I am declaring today that any promise I’ve ever made to be true to a person will not mean that I follow them in death. They are only meant to follow them in the living. I am true to your aliveness and will always be there but will never follow anyone into death no matter how much I adore  and love them them now. That’s a promise I am making to myself right now. And I am looking for people who want to be alive with no end so this promise is always keeping us together living better in every way physically, emotionally, spirituality, mentally…. Just simply in every way.

You can look good when you are over 50!

When I grew up I kept hearing ‘You will gain weight in your 40th and 50th. It’s just what happens. There is no way around it. You just live with it. I heard it from my mom and my aunts and my grandma. They all had been slim in their 20th and 30th but now in their 40’s and 50’s they had gained 20 – 40 pounds they didn’t need or want. My sister just recently visited. Same as me, she is in her 50th and she told me that she gained about 15 pounds a couple of years ago without changing anything in her daily routine. She is active all day running her coffee shop; she eats healthy and she still gained the 15 pounds and 3 dress sizes. She said ‘I can’t do anything about it. It’s just how it is.’

When I got into my 40th I was curious…would I get the pounds? From my teens on my weight always ranged between 136 and 150 pounds. I am 5.7’ and 136 pounds feels really good. You might think 150 isn’t really overweight but for me it feels that way. It means I am round around my hips and belly and I can’t wear the clothing I really like. When I look at myself in the mirror I see a wobbly layer covering up who I really am and it just feels wrong to be hiding. When I weigh 150 pounds I am also 1 or 2 dresses sizes bigger. And then last but not least…if I made it from 136 to 150 pounds, I could easily make it from 150 to 170 and so on. It is really alarming.

This is where I am different from my sister and my aunts. My sister told me that ‘without changing’ she had gained the pounds and my aunts hadn’t changed anything either when they had gained their weight. They just kept living the same way they had lived before. I am different in the way that when I am at 150 pounds I am about ready to change anything really quickly to get to my lower weight again. And the one thing that my sister and my aunts didn’t want to do – change – is what is doing the trick for me each time. And each time it’s a different change that helps me get to my weight.

In my 30th I lost weight by starting to eat 5 – 7 times a day and smaller portions. But even with eating smaller portions more often a day I gained weight again in my 40th. So I bought a horse and up’d exercising to 5 times a week. At 49 I gained weight again even with eating smaller portions and riding 5 times a week so I started to working out with Ilana (check her out at Enerjoy Fitness in Scottsdale – she is the best). I added 2 – 3 workouts a week and started writing a food diary which Ilana reviewed every week. My weight dropped from 150 to 142 pounds but I was stuck there and couldn’t get to the 136 pounds I really wanted. So I did a juice and protein shake diet with multiple hydrotherapy sessions. My colon felt cleaner than ever and I got to 136 pounds. Being so clean helped me stay under 140 pounds for over a year. But then I gained weight again and got close to 150 pounds once again. So Ilana put me on a strict 1600 calorie a day food regimen and later Ilana introduced me to Isagenix which helps me stay at a great weight – not where I want to be but great.

All this said, it’s not just one change, it’s many changes that I have made and all the changes that worked for me I kept on doing. I never went back on them. I am expecting to have to do many more changes and I am so glad I have people like Ilana who help me. I also have to thank Bernadeane and Jim Strole again since they both inspire me to constantly change and live better. Change for the better is great and it is so overlooked in our society. Staying the same is so much more common but no-one wins anything with it. We don’t progress in our body and feeling good is so wonderful. It can never be valued enough.

I found a short-cut…

Since I can think I have had a very tight lower back. My lower back wouldn’t necessarily hurt but I was limited in my range of motion. E.g. running was so uncomfortable that I simply cut it out of the list of things I would do. Or standing in line would hurt if it was longer than 2 minutes. It wasn’t such a big problem, since I could deal with it by simply moving around while waiting. Or sitting was uncomfortable but I looked for chairs that supported me well and I was able to cope. All of this didn’t worry me too much, since I thought it’s normal to be uncomfortable in that way and I thought most people who are not yogi’s have some discomforts every day anyways. Sometimes I would get real back pain and when this would happen I would start doing stretching exercises and go see a chiropractor and I would be fine again.

This was until last year. Last year I was doing stretching exercises every day, I was seeing a chiropractor consistently, I received massages every other week and despite all of this I started to have really bad back pain. And the back pain got worse with everything I did to get rid of it. My stretching, my adjustments from my chiropractor and the massages I got all of it made it worse and not better. I finally got through the worst of it by taking Advil and getting acupuncture. But the truth is, I never really got all the way well. I always had a little bit of pain. Sometimes it felt like it was gone but then I did a wrong move and it was back again. I was really frustrated.

About 6 weeks ago I started going to a new chiropractor. My horse had started getting adjustments from Doctor Stires and he really saw improvements. Since Doctor Stires also treated people I thought I give’ll him a try as well. What could I loose. What he suggested was decompression therapy. Decompression therapy seemed to make sense so I agreed and we started the treatment plan. After 3 weeks with 3 times a week of decompression  and adjustments he sent me home with my decompression machine and instructions to continue a big piece of the treatment plan on my own.

My new routine is very time consuming: 3 days a week I do the decompression and 3 days a week I do exercises that stretch and build muscles. The entire program takes 35 – 45 minutes a day pretty much every day of the week. That’s a lot of time to fit into my busy schedule. I thought my new chiropractor obviously hadn’t heard about the ‘shortcut’ or ‘get to your goal faster’ approach which all of us so desperately look for.

But to tell  the truth… the 35 – 45 minute routine I now have to add to my daily activities is the short-cut. I am really starting to feel a difference in my lower back. I started running a little in the morning and guess what, I get out of breath but I do not hurt – and I am only starting…

So what is a 35 – 45 minutes routine for a couple of months compared to 45 years of discomfort? It’s very little effort and a real short-cut.

Lots of people look for short-cuts at the wrong place. The real short-cut is what delivers the results. How much will my life improve every single day, 24 hours a day, for an unlimited number of more years to come with only a 35 – 45 minute investment a day right now?  I am so happy I got something that helps me and doing what it takes for it is so much fun and so worth it. It’s the real short-cut.

I love building my body, it builds my spirit and soul and wellbeing. It makes me a better person. It makes me greater for myself and others.

Where others build a career and a legacy, I build my body and I am so happy to be so successful at it and that I found people to help me with it. I have a lot to show for. It’s mostly my wellbeing and me feeling so good. What a wonderful life to live. I am so thankful to Bernie and Jim who are the most radical inspiration for me to do so. It’s essential for me to have Bernie and Jim and so many others in my life who show me a life that is so well worth living, a life that sees no end.

I have no problems…

I am sitting in my beautiful home and am thinking about all the amazing people I have in my life. Jim and Ilana were over for dinner Saturday night and we talked a lot about how well we are doing. How deeply we appreciate each other. What great vacations we have planned, what great foods we eat, how we have a future for us with more money, more wellbeing, how much we are touched by all the amazing people who feel us so deeply and are building this unlimited life with us.

About a week ago, I heard someone call Jim Strole the most positive person in the world. When I had him over for dinner that evening I could feel Jim’s positivity impact me.

The reason why I have no problems is because I have so many positive people around me. People like Jim Strole.

But what is positive?

Positive is not that we have nothing bad happen to us, real positivity is how we deal with the good and bad things that happen in our lives. Real positivity is when we use everything we experience to make us stronger. Real positivity is when we really enjoy the good things in our lives and know that they happen to us because it’s who we are and that they are not coincidental. Real positivity is when we have something bad happen (like someone close to us dies, or we loose money, or we get robbed, etc.) and we know we can handle it. Real positivity is when these bad things don’t make us feel like we are bad people.

Bernie and Jim always say that it’s not personal when people treat us poorly. In the past I understood what they were saying but I still felt miserable and kind of responsible for it when something bad happened to me. But the truth is that it’s not personal when someone runs all over me or manipulates me or robs me. It’s not personal at all! The people who treat me poorly are usually very negative people and they act it out with anyone they meet. I just happened to be one of them. In the end it has nothing to do with me and it for sure doesn’t make me a bad person.

There is one lesson I have to learn from these bad situations though! This lesson is that I have to learn how to stay away from bad people. I also have to learn how to get away from them quickly if they do happen to get in my way.

I have no problems, because I have people in my life that are honest and want the best for me in every way. They don’t just wish the best for me but also go out of their way to make it happen every day.

Even though my work comes with a lot of different people from all walks of life and with all kinds of agenda’s, I am getting better to go with the strengths of each person and to stay out of the way of trouble. I feel the better I am getting at staying out of the way of trouble and the better I am doing at taking in all the great things that happen every day, the happier I am.

I simply have no problem. It’s hard to grasp because it means that there is nothing left to fix. I have a lot of time on my hands, now that I no longer worry so much and there is nothing left to fix. Time I can use to do things I really like doing. Things like writing this blog or getting closer to the many people I truly love and care about.

Life can be painful so why would I want it unlimited?

Yesterday, I went to a talk with Matt Monarch. Matt is the owner of the biggest raw food online store in the world. He has been eating totally raw for many years, yet what he was promoting yesterday was not eating totally raw but eating in a way that brings you ultimate health. I like ultimate health, I like a future with no pharmaceutical drugs. I like a future without Alzheimer disease. I like a future without heart disease. I like future without arthritis. I like a future without overweight. I like a future without scoliosis. I like a future that sees no death. I like a future of unending complete wellbeing. Wellbeing far beyond the health we know right now. I feel it is possible to feel actually better and better physically and experience a wellbeing better than anyone ever has. I feel this is my future and I am already living it. I liked Matt’s talk because he is a genius in researching products that make you feel really really good. So I enjoyed his talk and once again walked away with a handful of new products that I can’t wait to try.

Even though I liked Matt’s talk about foods, I liked the last part of his talk even better. It wasn’t about food. It was about spirituality. I  often don’t like it much when people talk about spirituality because they tend to use it as their way to not feel their bodies. To get away from their physicality. To deny it. I don’t like denying my body or other people’s bodies because it is the most destructive thing there is. People do it a lot in may different ways and one of these ways is spirituality and I hate it. Yes, we feel pain and sometimes it might feel that the longer we live the more pain we feel. And yes, we feel very uncomfortable sometimes and yes, this discomfort in our bodies. We feel it in our hearts, veins, muscles, emotions, nervous systems. And yes, it seems like the easiest way out to get as far away from it as possible. But where most people want to get away from the pain in their bodies as quickly as they can, I actually like it. I like it because having pain allows me to see areas that need attention and change and I love that I get loud signals for it.

Back to Matt’s talk…I only stayed for the first part of Matt’s talk about spirituality and I actually liked it. It was totally different from what I had expected. It was actually about the body and not about how to avoid it. What he said was simple. It is about focus. If you feel discomfort in your body or if you have a disease, stare it down. Go to bed early, feel the area in your body where you feel discomfort and stare it down.

Otto asked me at home, so how does this work? I usually have a hard time staring down anything or anyone but there are things that deserve to be stared down – like people who are intimidators. People who are disrespectful and walk all over me deserve to be stared down. People who cheat on me or are dishonest deserve to be stared down. And the same way these people deserve to be stared down, the symptoms in my body that are caused by the emotional stress from being treated poorly deserve to be stared down.

I loved this piece of Matt’s talk and I am enthusiastically going to become an expert in staring down bad things. I love having no end and my future just became better. I know I will always meet people like Matt who make it better. Thanks Matt!

Breaking the biggest conspiracy in the world – that you have to die…

Today I went to visit my horse Lucky who is boarded by my friend Jo. Jo is very dear to me and on my way home I stopped to talk to her for a little bit while she was cleaning stalls. We started out talking about her break-up with her ex-boyfriend and how this break-up had made her stronger and a better person. I mentioned to her “Imagine you would never die and how you could become better and better without an end – wouldn’t that be amazing!” She liked it but then thought about her grandmother, who is in her 90ies. Her grandmother had had a wonderful happy life and she now doesn’t want it to end but her body is getting weaker and weaker and it seems like there definitely will be an end to her life probably sooner than later. Jo was sad about this and doubted that it was possible that the body could live without an end.

This is what most people feel. They feel that they have to die and that they have no choice about it.

But think about this… no one really never gives us a chance to even think that we have a choice. No one ever teaches us how to build our bodies. No one! We don’t learn how to eat to build our bodies. We don’t learn how to exercise to build our bodies. We don’t learn how to be together and stay together in a way that builds our bodies. We don’t learn how to work in a way that builds our bodies and so on. We don’t learn anything on how to build our bodies ever – period.

Look at eating for an example. Most eating we learn is to soothe our emotions, to survive and to make it through the day. Or we learn how to overeat when we come together for holidays, weddings or birthdays. But definitely we don’t learn how to eat to nourish and build our bodies so that we are healthy and strong.

Then let’s look at exercising. Exercising should make us be stronger and healthier. But in most cases it rather is destructive to our bodies. We learn how to build strength to defend our countries. We learn how to build our bodies to look good for the other sex. Or we learn how to train to win a gold medal in the Olympics. And in the end we get married, get gold medals or win other competitions but our bodies get worn out while doing it. We push ourselves to break limits while going through pain and often injure ourselves while doing it. If we go too far in it we tear our bodies down without return. Yes, no-one really teaches us how to exercise and eat in a way that builds our bodies.

We also never learn how to feel our bodies. In most cases we get taught to be tough and to not feel. And later we can be sick and we only know it when it’s already serious and we have to do complicated tests to find out what’s wrong with us. But if we would have learned how to feel our bodies we would know early on when we have the first symptoms and we could give our doctor direction on where to look instead of the other way around.

And then when growing up no-one seems to be able to teach us anything about a health emotional life. One of the most common emotions around is also the most unhealthy emotion. No-one seems to have a clue on how to get rid of it. One of the most unhealthy emotions is the one we experience with separation from people we care about. Separation makes people loose their heart to live. And no one teaches us when we grow up how to stay together with boosting each others lives and bodies, feeling fulfilled while doing it. The one thing we learn is how to put up rules with each other. These rules then make us feel boxed in and we feel like we can’t breath and intimacy has to come with compromise and sacrifice. And in the end separation seems like the only way out. But while separating we get our hearts broken and we don’t want to live so much anymore. Or we don’t separate but shut down and compromise in the name of love. What a stupid concept. In the end we really need to be able to be together and build each other’s bodies emotionally, physically, and in all ways without any sacrifice and compromise. If we want to be emotionally healthy, we need to be able to do exactly this.

And then finally even if we start building our bodies through exercise, food, wonderful things we treat ourselves with, build each other in intimacies, we still have to overcome guilt. It’s the guilt you feel when you feel really good and it’s so good that you think now it has to end. But the truth is it doesn’t have to end. It’s really just a start on how good you can feel. This guilt has been programmed into us forever.

We wonder why we feel guilty but it’s really no mystery. There is pretty much not even one religion on this planet that wants the body to live. There are thousands of religions that teach many different things but all of them have in common that they don’t want you to treat your body well. They don’t want your body nourished. Especially not just for the sake of being nourished. In fact they usually want you to burn yourself out for a cause. All kinds of causes but you need to sacrifice yourself to make it happen. None of them tells you to treat yourself well first and because you treat yourself well and you build your body a better place is guaranteed for you and the one’s around you.

I asked Jo “Imagine if your grandmother would have been in an environment where she would have been supported to eat in a way that builds her body, to exercise in a way that builds her body, where she wouldn’t have to experience separation from people she cared about. Wouldn’t she be physically in a great shape now in her 90ies and wouldn’t she be able to live for many more years to come?”

I feel it would be the biggest accomplishment for Jo’s grandmother if she would live for many more years to come so that Jo wouldn’t have to experience her loss ever. I feel it is the biggest accomplishment if the body is well and healthy and strong and vibrant and with a lot of soul and passion and with no end in sight. I feel this is what religions should teach.

I want to live in a world where people come together to build each other. Where people give up their religion, their political party, their race because they find it more important to build one another.

The wonderful thing is that I don’t have to wait for this world. I am already living right in the middle of it. Bernie and Jim are creating it every day. And now I am co-creating it with them. The best thing I could ever wish for myself when growing up is co-creating a world for myself and others where we don’t have to die. It’s the best adventure ever. BernaDeane: “I feel good and it’s because I am getting more real’

At our People Unlimited event last night I heard BernaDeane say: “I feel great”. This was an “I feel great” that I could really feel. I hear people say “I feel great” all the time but it’s superficial. It’s the feeling great on the surface. Most people don’t even dare to feel everything they feel. They dismiss it. After a while they don’t even know anymore what is they are feeling and they replace it with goals and images which have nothing to do with real feelings after all. And the real feelings end up being shoved into the unconscious. What a shame.

When Bernie said “I feel great” yesterday, I could feel that it was all the way. I could feel her body tremble, like you tremble when you get overtaken by a wonderful emotion. I felt her body shine. I could see an intensity in her eyes that told me she was not avoiding anything and what she was telling was the truth. And then Bernie said “I feel great because I go with the truth” and then she continued “the truth that the body doesn’t have to die”. It’s the most suppressed truth. If you say it you may be called crazy, ignorant, in a cult.

Most people on this planet don’t experience that the body doesn’t have to die as their truth but nevertheless it’s the truth. I know that it is because the more I give my body credit that I can live unlimited without ever having to experience death, the more I shine, the more alive I get, the more my emotions wake up, the more I become this vaster person I want to be, the more I experience a virtue that usually is only related to religion. I am not religious and have never been. It’s just me, my body which experiences this virtue and it’s a wonderful feeling. It makes me feel great! I agree with Bernie everyone should have this experience of feeling great. Check us out for yourself and come to one of our events in Scottsdale – email me to find out where: dontdie4@gmail.com
